You become what you despise

When you despise the qualities you dislike in others, you assimilate those same characteristics into your own personality.

I remember a phase when I grew “sick and tired” of complainers.

I went on and on about how much I hated people who complained about their problems.

It hadn’t occurred to me that complaining about complainers is just another form of complaining.

By focusing my attention on the people I despised, I became just like them.

Are you focusing your energy on what moves you forward or are you too busy bemoaning those who behave badly?

Sympathetic Vibration

The secrets of the Universe are encoded in the Language of Love.

As we become more akin to vibrating at the higher frequencies of compassion, the mysteries of the cosmos reveal themselves to us and we begin to understand, with our hearts, the felt meaning of life.

In the Ancient Greek world, Aristotle formulated what came to be known as “The Correspondence Theory of Truth.” To the Ancient Greeks, “Truth” was the property of a statement which corresponded to Reality. This conception of Truth underlies the approach to knowledge most celebrated by the modern Western World.

In the mystical schools of the Ancient Eastern World, however, Truth was understood in terms of  ”sympathetic vibration” or “harmonic resonance.” Something was considered to be True not merely because it corresponded with external conditions, but because it resonated harmoniously with the emotional guidance of the seeker.

Water cannot be grasped with the hand, yet it can be captured in a cup. Likewise, the Energy of Life cannot be grasped with the mind, but it can be harbored in the heart.

If we open our minds to the wisdom of the heart, we can literally feel ourselves into the knowledge of higher worlds.

How does it make you feel to think about that?
